Now they have begun doing shows, we have decided to release a compilation tape of the first and second EPs, one on each side, with a few exclusive bonus tracks throw in for good measure. 

They’re £5.00, and they’re limited to 10/10. We have 5 and BS have 5.

So, there has been a lot of talk and babble from us about our second tape - a mixtape, combining some of the best underground garage/surf and chillwave/ambient/electronic tracks about today. Thankfully, I can finally (it feels like a ‘finally’) announce that we will be selling these, from Record Store Day onwards (which, for those unaware, is the 21 of April, 2012).

They are limited to a mere 15 copies, so they wont be lasting long. I honestly think that this mixtape is bloody awesome - they all came together really beautifully. I love the way it fits together, the tracks themselves, the cover, and I’m still not sick of any of the songs after listening to the mixtape about 30 times - which is always good.

It is the † tape. We will be selling them for £2.50 - there are 20 tracks in total. If you’re not interested in the tape itself (of which, the tape itself is a beautiful red, hand numbered), the free download/stream of both sides is listed below, on our Soundcloud. A collection of garage/surf tracks on one side, and chillwave/lofi-electronic tracks on the other. I’m really happy about this one. It’s a mixtape I (as in Eliot) put together, art as well. It’s full of some of my favourite musicians right now, and some of my favourite songs right now too. 

They’ll be £2.50 when they come out to be found at our bigcartel page. We’re still clearing initial permissions for track use, but I will include down below the brilliant musicians that have allowed us to put this out and use their fucking rad music. 

There will be 9 to sell. Although, we are thinking of making more in the future as we’re very happy about the product. A digital download of both A & B should be up soon, either on the Bandcamp, or elsewhere. YOU’LL KNOW. Don’t worry.

Hello there.

I appreciate that you may not want to know about what I am going to try and advertise to you, but please do try.

My friend Mike and I have been working on putting out this release for the past few months. It’s been a very interesting, brilliant (and at times, stressful) process. This is the first release we have put out on Cheesus Crust Records, an independent D•I•Y cassette only (for now) record label, based in a small town called Wrexham in north Wales, GB. 

It might be the first real thing I have done with my life up to now, and it’s an enormous accomplishment to finally get this release out there for people to buy. 

Beach Skulls are a very grounded, very DIY fresh lofi two piece, playing a very downbeat variation of surf rock (‘lounge surf’, if you will). Not only is their EP on our tapes, but it is also free to download on our Bandcamp. So, even if your cares are not for a physical release or more specifically, a tape release, you are more than welcome to have a download of the EP, and we want you to have it! Because free music is boss.

In buying this limited edition tape, numbered to 30 copies, you not only get something physical for your money, you get a hand written, personalised thank you note (and believe my aching wrist when I say they are all hand written) with unique artwork on each by both Mike and myself. Also there is a special surprise on the B-SIDE for those wanting to find it. The cover is a fold out, double-sided sleeve, complete with lyrics, and the labels are rad as fuck.

Generally, you’re getting a lot for your little pennies. Rad music, rad designs, rad things to stick on your wall, and the chance to make a connection with some kids who just want to put something awesome out there, doing it all ourselves, funding it all ourselves and all that. A lot of love has been put into these. And that £4 you pay will keep CCR alive to make more releases, and to keep Beach Skulls in gear and in bus fare. 

It’s a charity, of sorts.
