Show in September.
(>‿◠)✌ CHEESUS CRUST RECORDS <3s REEKS OF EFFORT ≧◠◡◠≦✌
So, having been in discussion with the cool dudes at The Bay Horse in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, and have given us the opportunity to host their weekly event, “Free Gig Friday” on the 8th of November, 2013.
It’s pretty exciting. So, there will be no real headliner, just a night of good, fun music. Isn’t that neat?
TRUST FUND (BRISTOL, ENGLAND) - dreamy and lush indie pop maintained by a firm punk backbeat
MAT RIVIERE (LONDON) - loopy and experimental lofi acoustic music, denoted by airy and wistful structuring
THE HIPSHAKES (SHEFFIELD/MANCHESTER) - proto-punk garage babes
FURROW (OSWESTRY, WALES) - coming from the Welsh roots of Shropshire, this prolific and dedicated two-piece punk outfit are one of my favourite live bands right now. Mixing hypnotically atmospheric loops and melodic drones with straight up punk, their appreciation for driving punk and soul-filling soundscapes could only be a product of a band from the countryslide.
A WINNING PAIR (MANCHESTER) - proto-punk kinda fun garage. first gig.
DATE: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8th, 2013
PRICE: FREE DOORS WOOO
PLACE: THE BAY HORSE, MANCHESTER
So, I’ve decided to a SHARE + WIN competition thingy.
Basically, the idea is, you can win a copy of each of the cassette releases currently available on Cheesus Crust Records.
1. The last copy of the videosforpictures/BLOODSPORT split tape Waitin’ For That Warm Feeling To Return (EXPERIMENTAL AMBIENCE/DOWNBEAT ELECTRONIC)
2. One of the last few copies of Oh No! Yoko's first EP 'PAU PAU', available in GREEN, PINK AND ORANGE still (MATHY INDIE POP)
3. The new Videosforpictures collection, each edition with a different cover (you can choose, like) (LOFI PIANO)
4. The skuzzy lofi garage awesomeness of Ivan the Tolerable’s album ‘A Glass Eye is a Class Eye’ (SKUZZY LOFI GARAGE).
And also there will be an exclusive mix (hence blue tape) just 4 UUU (mystic meg voice).
So please, be really nice and share this and encourage other people to share it and you have a chance of winning some nifty tapes for freeeeee.
I’ll close the ‘draw’ on Monday.

This is a collection of brilliant songs by videosforpictures that I put up on the Cheesus Crust Records bandcamp the other night. Some of the tracks will go into a cassette. It will be for sale. You will be able to buy one. At some point.
A new night that I’m demoing on the 19th of July in Odder Bar in Manchester.

I am very happy to announce that we will be putting out a selected discography cassette of the great Videosforpictures work up until now. Let’s call it a best of, of sorts.
If you’re fatefully unaware of who V4P is yet, quite frankly, you’re missing out. It’s primarily a solo project of the young Jay Lancaster, a New England youth, currently residing in Poughkeepsie, New York. He has been home recording his stuff since i’ve known him, his first EP ‘Very Three’ barely audible sometimes, having been recorded on a rubbish old video recorder. His work is a poignet collection of melancholic, foreboding, confessional and technically diverse and beautiful piano led songs. Somewhat in the vein of Thom Yorke when hitting the piano keys, but still distinguished and unlike a lot of modern music anybody hypes about. Almost baroque in a lot of ways, with folk influence, noise influence, rock influence and general balladry (in the best sense of the word).
He has been making music since about 2007, and has been one of the only artists I have ever known to be so consistently great with everything he has put out…and yet he is still completely unknown, only having just over 71 likes on Facebook. It’s a crime.
This release is a bid to get this brilliant musician some attention, attention he dearly deserves and has been long over due for many years, despite his talent, dedication and individuality.
The release will contain music from all of the releases he has put on in the past:
Very Three: The Underground Sessions (2008)
Endo Fanera (a collection of songs written between 2007-2009)
Anomie Family Brain (2011)
It’s Fine, It Happens (2011)
10 Minutes With…Videosforpictures (2011)
Joy Farm (2012)
He did release another EP quite recently called Good Dream Revised (2013), but I wont be putting any songs off there onto the discography.
I hope you guys will like what you hear, because I fucking love this guy and I am privileged to know the dude. Please download his EPs, give him some Facebook likes, share this page with your follows and post about it on Facebook. Make it your life’s work to get Videosforpictures more damn attention.
FFO: Perfume Genius, Coma Cinema, Teen Suicide, Thom Yorke/Radiohead

I’m putting on a show in Trof Fallowfield, Manchester, housing Beach Skulls, Snøffeltøffs (touring from Germany), Grind Outs and Mistoa Polsta. Should be an awesome night of fuzz and lofi. Very apt for CCR, I think you’ll agree.
